In this course, students will gain a robust comprehension of problem-solving in various domains, including air preparation, pneumatic cylinders, motor and rotary actuator, directional control, and flow control valves, among others. Participants will delve into subjects such as recognizing indicators of filter malfunction, understanding the mechanics of rodless cylinders, grasping the purpose of shock absorbers, identifying signs of exhaust restrictor issues, comprehending the functionality of vacuum switches, and developing troubleshooting flowcharts. Students must provide their own portable computer to access course curriculum through an online portal. The computer must meet the following minimum requirements: Windows, Mac, or Chromebook (no other portable devices are supported), 64-bit Browser with WebGL 2.0 support, sound card, and video card with WebGL support. Internet access outside of the Automation and Robotics center is required to access course content for study outside of class hours. Certification Preparation: The course is tailored to prepare students for the Smart Automation Certification Alliance SACA C-304 Pneumatic Troubleshooting 1 Certification.
