Quality Matters Standards Course Review

Are you developing or working on improving the design of an online or hybrid course? We can help! Guided by the Quality Matters rubric and a course development checklist, a certified Quality Matters (QM) Peer Reviewer will evaluate your course on Quality Matters Standards 1–8. Any Hawkeye instructor, full-time or adjunct, can submit their course for review.

Canvas Basic Training

This training is required for all instructors to meet the college's requirement of using Canvas for all Hawkeye courses. Training will cover posting the syllabus, setting up the gradebook and grading methods, structuring the Canvas course, and implementing a few communication tools.

New instructors are encouraged to complete Canvas Basic Training as early as possible so they can begin preparing their courses. However, they must have their Hawkeye email address before they can complete this training. To arrange for Canvas Basic training to be provided other than a scheduled session below, contact Instructional Designer Joshua Mitchell or Chelsea Sindt

No pre-registration is required.

Full-Time Faculty Orientation

New full-time faculty are required to attend orientation activities that includes:

  • Instructional Technology Resources
  • Overview of Faculty Induction & Mentoring program, course design and professional development resources
  • Policies & procedures including overview of student and faculty handbooks.

Participants also need to register for a Canvas Basic Training session if this training has not been completed.
